“Rihanna” is a modelling, texturing and rendering project. Creating and rendering a realistic human face is always tricky and achieving true likeness to a real-life person is even more of a challenge. I selected Rihanna as a subject due to her rather striking features as well as the easy access to ample photographic reference that enabled me to examine and accurately reproduce the contours of her face. Photoshop and zBrush were used in order to develop a wide array of image maps that were used in order to reproduce the texture of her eyes and skin while Autodesk XSI was used to sculpt the actual head. The project was rendered in mental ray using fast skin shader.
